The 2024 Final will be held in September 2024 at the Manchester Conference Centre, Sackville Street, Manchester. Most Catenian Provinces are arranging Regional competitions and inviting the Catholic schools and colleges in their areas to send entrants to compete. These Public Speaking Competitions are open to students aged 16 to 18 years who attend Catholic Schools. The winners of these Regional competitions are invited to attend the National Final.
Finals
Our National Public Speaking Final format:
- Entrants will speak on a topic, usually the one they won their regional competition with, for four minutes and are judged against criteria such as delivery, oral skills, content etc.
- Judging is by a panel (usually three) with experience in teaching, drama, speech or similar and feedback is given on all the speeches.
- For the Final expenses are paid and the winner, second and third placed receive a prize as do their schools. All other competitors receive a prize for participating. All competitors receive a certificate for participating.
